Needed Revival Now!
TEXT: Hab 3:2
Introduction:
(Hab 3:2) “O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”
Like Habakkuk we need to HEAR the Lord’s speech and be afraid.
The very foundation of Christianity is being attacked:
(Psa 11:3) “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
We like Habakkuk need to pray that God would REVIVE HIS WORK in the midst of years . . . before it is to late for help!
I believe that most folks don’t really know how close they are to passing the point of no return with God.
In these past 7 months I have been made aware that unless God REVIVES His Work, there is no hope for many.
I would share with you today these Areas that we need God to REVIVE immediately if not sooner!
I. A FAMILY REVIVAL
(Gen 35:1-5) “And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. {2}Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: {3}And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. {4}And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. {5}And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.”
A. Needed Daddies that will clean their homes
1. Put away strange gods – God first
2. Be Clean – Saved and separated
3. Change garments – Right living
B. Needed Mothers that will claim their homes.
(Titus 2:5) “To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
C. Needed Children that will clam their homes.
(Eph 6:1) “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
D. The Home must be revived by God for the nation to survive.
II. A PERSONAL REVIVAL
(Mat 22:37-40) “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. {38}This is the first and great commandment. {39}And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. {40}On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
A. Love for God
1. Live daily for the Lord Jesus Christ
2. Serve the Lord in the way that will give Him honor and glory.
3. Put away sinful things.
B. Love one for another by removing the following from your heart:
1. Strife
2. Envying
3. Grudges
4. Unforgiveness
(1 John 4:10-11) “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. {11}Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
C. We need to start our own personal revival now.
III. A CHURCH REVIVAL
(Eccl 5:1) “Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.”
A. Love God’s House
B. Willingness to do what God asks:
1. Time
2. Talent
3. Tithe
C. Love God’s Word
D. Praying for and Protect the reputation of your church..
E. Going out to bring the lost to Christ
(Luke 14:23) “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
F. Putting God’s House in the right place in our lives.
CONCLUSION:
(Psa 138:7) “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.” God is willing and able if only we would come today and let Him revive His Work in our lives where ever it might need to be. Come now!
